THE COMPONENTS: Resflor Injectable Solution is a clear-coloured solution, each ml containing 300 mg florfenicol and 16.5 mg flunixin.
This product contains flunixin meglumine in an equivalent formulation.
PHARMACOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS: Florfenicol is a broad-spectrum synthetic antibiotic; It is effective against a broad spectrum of Gram-positive and Gram-negative microorganisms. Florfenicol works by inhibiting protein synthesis in the bacterial ribosome.
Laboratory studies have shown that florfenicol is effective against the most important pathogens responsible for cattle respiratory diseases, such as Mannheimia (Pasteurella) haemolytica, Pasteurella multocida, Histophilus somni and Corynebacterium pyogenes. In vitro studies have demonstrated that florfenicol exhibits bactericidal activity against Mannheimia haemolytica, Pasteurella multocida, Mycoplasma bovis, and Histophilus somni. Flunixin meglumine is a powerful, non-steroidal, non-narcotic analgesic product with anti-inflammatory, anti-endotoxic and antipyretic effects. When Resflor Injectable Solution is administered subcutaneously at a dosage of 40 mg/kg florfenicol, it remains effective for more than 39 hours. This provides effective plasma levels for an extended period of time, which is particularly effective against the least susceptible respiratory pathogen, Mannheimia haemolytica, above the MIC90 value. The peak plasma concentration level is achieved around 5.5 hours after the administration. When Resflor Injectable Solution is administered subcutaneously at a dose of 2.2 mg/kg flunixin by 1.3 hours, the highest plasma concentration will be reached.
USAGE:Resflor Injectable Solution is used to treat respiratory tract infections (BRD) in cattle caused by Mannheimia (Pasteurella) haemolytica, Pasteurella multocida, Mycoplasma bovis, and Histophilus somni. The disease begins with fever in cattles.
