One of the infection processes that have a great economic and sanitary impact on dairy cattle is mammary gland infections, and more specifically MASTITIS, also known as inflammatory infections. This disease is the most common reason for antibacterial use on dairy farms.Mastitis is a fairly common condition defined as inflammation of the breast in response to infection. These infections are generally caused by Gram (+) and Gram (-) microorganisms, and each group acts separately or together. Lactating cows and dry cows are both susceptible to mastitis, but the disease is more common in lactating cows due to greater susceptibility and transmission, primarily during milking.Mastitis is more distinguished in lactating cows due to its effect on milk production. Once the mastitis process begins, there is no other option but to apply a treatment that directly controls the infectious agents.
